Overview
The OSCAM (Operating and Support Cost Analysis Model) family provides time evolutionary whole life costing models for a variety of US Navy weapon system platform types. The OSCAM Sys model provides the ability to produce operating and support costs for shipboard systems programs, which may be deployed across multiple platforms.
Note: The OSCAM Sys model is not currently being maintained or updated. Please reach out to the OSCAM Program Management team for more information.
OSCAM Sys v7 Suite
OSCAM Ship 9.0 can be used to represent shipboard systems costs by only including the system specific costs in the input dataset. However, OSCAM Sys v7 should be considered where a large number of systems are deployed or where additional detail is required for modernization, software maintenance or engineering technical services costs.
A suite of tools is provided as part of the standard installations:
OSCAM Sys v7 – the main tool that is used for developing input data, performing simulations and analysis of results.
OSCAM Sys v7 PCT DMT – a multi-function companion tool that can be used to generate OSCAM Sys compatible datasets. The Parametric Costing Tool (PCT) mode can be used to develop an OSCAM data record based on system characteristics. Data Management Tool (DMT) mode allows system level maintenance data to be built up using a work breakdown structure of sub-systems and components.
